This week was two pies, one savoury and one sweet. Tonight I'm taking you to Smitten Kitchen to make your pastry, and really, you have to make this pastry!!
I made it the night before, and refrigerated it overnight, which wouldn't be allowed on the show. The recipe made enough for two pies with lids, definitely one to keep in the freezer.
For my savoury pie, I made a bacon and egg pie, with caramelised onions and potatoes...pretty basic really...maybe too basic for the judges this week.
But it tasted good....and did I mention the pastry?!
For dessert I made Peach and Crème Fraiche Pie, also from Smitten Kitchen!
I was a bit distracted and didn't really follow the directions (forgot to blind bake, didn't put the crème fraiche in the right place...) but it was delicious. Would make again!

Yum!!! I so wish you lived closer, like right next door and then I'd be able to smell it and know when to drop in :)
