Little Man Knits

I don't find it as easy to find interesting knitting patterns for boys as I do for girls, but these ones make me want to cast on NOW! (Never mind all the other projects on the go!) Of course, these would all be adorable on little girls too, but I think they work especially well for boys.

I think this would be lovely with a hood too.

Lots of these designers have published other funky patterns too, so be sure to click through and have a look at their other designs.

I've been interested lately in knitting patterns that have different construction, or finishing details- these look like they fit the bill just nicely!

What are you knitting for little boys?

Little Lady Knits

I've been spending some time on Ravelry lately looking at all the lovely patterns there are for little lasses and lads. We haven't found out what flavour the baby is, so I've (mostly) been making gender neutral knits in gender neutral colours since we found out we were pregnant.

Here are a few of my (current) favourites for little girls.

Button Bow Baby (I've actually knit this one!)

Pattern available in baby and toddler sizes- look for the e-book with both patterns in it.

(6 months to 10 years sizes)

Wow- looking at these all lined up I can see I have a penchant for dusky purples, and french patterns!

What's on your must knit list for little girls at the moment?

Fibre Friday

A little collection of pins and links for fibre things I am loving lately.

I am making this shawl..... to be revealed soon!

Next up I'm going to have a play with this pattern.....

And I'm going to knit myself a cardigan, this cardigan,

Using this technique for the short rows.

Two more fibre things on pinterest that have caught my eye: Thin stripes and thick stripes (a cute wee free pattern)

This crochet cross blanket (it's just 'grannies') (I have yarn sitting there for my next crochet project)

There is yarn in the shop! A brand new exciting true two ply base- keep watching this space for the next new yarn base reveal!

Some Love Songs for Love Day

Obviously, this song is the top of the list because I walked down The Aisle to it.....

It's a version with an ad in front, but it's got the video clip which is very lovely.

Have you heard this song? Apparently it's on the TV2 ad, but I wouldn't know because we've stopped watching t.v. I can tell you it's on the radio alot though!

This one is just whimsical and lovely.....

And this one isn't strictly a love song, but it is so beautiful. So so beautiful.

Go hug someone you love.

PeaPod

My good friend (and bridesmaid) Penny has just opened up a felt shop, selling beautiful jewellery.

I borrowed these images from her site. Isn't her work lovely?

Chunky Oval Bangle

Sterling Silver Leaf Earrings

Sterling Silver Leaf Pendant

I love these skeleton leaves.

Granny Love Much?

Scheming in TWC. Purple, teal, orange and graphite. Or cream, avocado, sunflower and graphite. Or avacado, sky, cream and graphite. Or cream, ballet, cyclamen and raspberry. Or, or, or....... Need to get it right, because face it, I'm surely only ever going to make one.

Sunburst Granny Love

Trying to figure out if I can pull off the granny square lampshade. Crushing on grey.

Don't tell Nana, she'll want to send the Granny Blanket I started a million years ago and she likely still has stashed away. (Thanks for the hoarder tendencies Nana.)

Should probably finish my English paper piecing hexagon cot quilt first right?

Quiltspirtation

Zig Zags? They look like a neat extention of my sqaures infatuation- squares made of triangles! I'm planning a twist though- look out for drawings in the next few posts.

A good tutorial. Another tutorial.

I love the quilting (but might stick to stippling for this one).

These colours? Swoon. I love how the white crisps everything up. Maybe I need to plan a quilt with white!

(And this? Not zig zag, but oh how I adore thee!)
